> Talanoa is a privacy-first desktop email client for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It reimagines email with a people-first inbox that organizes messages by sender relationship rather than chronological order, includes a built-in Kanban task board, and stores all data locally on the user's device with zero tracking and no cloud servers.

## What makes Talanoa different

- **People-First Inbox**: Messages organized into three sections — Teammates (colleagues), People (personal contacts), and Notifications (automated/newsletters) — rather than a chronological timeline.
- **Kanban Board**: Turn emails into tasks. Drag-and-drop workflow with stages (New → Doing → Done), due dates, and progress tracking — all inside the email client.
- **Local-Only Storage**: All email data stays on the user's device. No cloud sync. No servers. No access to user data by Talanoa. Certified secure.
- **Multi-Account Support**: Connect Gmail, Outlook/Microsoft 365, iCloud, Yahoo Mail, and custom IMAP/SMTP accounts. Manage all inboxes from a single window.
